The Department of Health and Aged Care is seeking public input on creating a National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program (QI Program) for in-home aged care services. This program aims to:

  • Provide insights into care quality
  • Help individuals make informed choices
  • Enable providers to improve their services
  • Guide evidence-based government policies

Partnering with HealthConsult, the University of Queensland, and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, the Department is working to establish the QI Program. Feedback is vital in shaping key aspects like service scope, implementation strategy, timing, and priority quality indicators (QIs).

The Department Wants to Hear From:

  • Older individuals receiving in-home aged care
  • Family members, carers, or representatives
  • Aged care providers and health professionals
  • Advocacy groups and professional bodies
  • Aged care peak bodies
  • Researchers and experts
  • Anyone interested in aged care
